Question:
I live in a condo that hired a management company about a year ago.I never received any documented emails or papers regarding anything dealing with the condo and it’s board members
I don’t even know who they are. They have tampered with my heat each year, thus me not getting any.Now I believe the management co.is out of business and there is no contact information.
I believe there’s corrupt leadership.What can I do?
Thank you
– Marcia
Answer:
Hi Marcia,
To start, review any documents you have, such as the condo’s bylaws, meeting minutes, or other official paperwork, even if you haven’t received formal communications. These documents might outline the responsibilities of the board and the management company and may provide useful contact information. If you don’t know who the board members are, try looking through past meeting minutes or reach out to your neighbors. Board members’ names are often listed in such documents, and they may be able to provide contact details or insight into what’s happening.
You can submit an inquiry form to the CCIC Ombudsperson by emailing it to FPR.CCICO@illinois.gov or calling 844.856.5193. The state also offers a dispute resolution service for some issues.
