How do we go about registering our voluntary neighborhood association with the SOS? We want to apply for a beautification grant but was told we need to register and receive EIN#. Do we register as a charity or non profit organization? Please provide any help in how we should proceed?

In Georgia, HOAs must be organized as a non-profit or for-profit organization before recording a declaration. They must then register the HOA with the Secretary of State by submitting their recorded governing documents.
