Can HOA Enforce Quiet Hours During Holidays?

    Yes, they absolutely can enforce it, holidays or not. The quiet hours are part of the community’s governing documents, so unless there’s a specific holiday exemption written in, the rules apply year-round. If they’ve been lax in enforcing it before, that might just be a decision by the board.

    Our HOA has a similar rule, but they send out a notice every December reminding us to keep holiday celebrations reasonable. They don’t enforce it strictly unless there are complaints. Maybe check with your HOA board?

    Thanks for the insight! I’ll check with the board. I’m hosting a New Year’s Eve party and don’t want any issues. Do you think letting my neighbors know ahead of time would help avoid complaints.

    Definitely! I always give my neighbors a heads-up when I host something late. Most people are fine if they know it’s a one-off event. It’s when they’re surprised that complaints roll in.

    I agree with @faewin45, but keep in mind that giving notice doesn’t mean people can’t complain. I’d keep the music low after 10 PM to play it safe.
