In our community, landscaping has grown and blocks the house number of many homes. I am concerned that since the HOA is responsible for landscape maintenance, this could be a liability issue of an emergency vehicle takes additional time to locate a home. Some have said, the emergency vehicles use GPS and house numbers are not as important as they once were. I think we should paint house numbers on the curb in front of every home. Any thoughts or experience?

GPS is not accurate. If a street has 20 homes it divides the length of the street by 20 which we know is not accurate and it’s usually one or two homes off. Curb numbers are very inexpensive solution. CurbNumbers.con offers the service to associations at 50% off ($19.95 each) by the HOA posting or emailing the link to its discount page which cost the HOA nothing. Or 62.5% off ($15 each) if HOA contracts to do everyone.

Some driveways are only 5 ft apart. At the end of cul-de-sacs that’s the rule not the exception. There’s no way GPS can be that accurate.
