Wow, that’s a huge increase! I think your HOA is required to give a certain amount of notice about fee hikes, but I’m not sure how much time in advance. Have you tried reaching out to the board for clarification?

I’ve had similar issues with sudden increases. They didn’t provide any justification for the hike, and I couldn’t get a straight answer from anyone. I would recommend reviewing your HOA’s governing documents to see if they specify rules for fee increases or notice requirements.
