Probably some fire safety nonsense. HOAs love to overreact. I’d ask if there’s any way to get around it—like using an electric grill. Still sucks though. I’d be mad too.

Ugh, I feel you. My HOA did this a few years ago. Turned out they had some insurance issue, so they banned grilling to avoid “liability.” Maybe check if that’s the case?
