Architectural Changes in Wisconsin

Question:

My husband and I live in a nice HOA community and have a large backyard. Are we allowed to add on to our trailer home? We have the space. I have the CCR’s to our HOA community but really don’t want to plow through it.
Thank you!

Answer:

Hi Cecilia,

Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing whether or not you can add on to your trailer home without going through the association’s CC&Rs. In this document, you will find the architectural standards homeowners must follow, including any application procedures that you must go through for any architectural change. If you don’t want to read the CC&Rs yourself, you can ask your HOA board or architectural committee for guidance. However, it is still best to check the CC&Rs with your own two eyes, not only because of the architectural change but also to know all the other rules in your community.
