I am currently looking to purchase a lot/ land but some properties have HOA Fees. Is it negotiable or disputable to remove the HOA Fees? States of interest my interest is Colorado, Wyoming and Arizona.
Membership in a homeowners association is typically mandatory when you purchase a lot or home that belongs in an HOA community. That also means it is mandatory to abide by the association’s rules and covenants, which include the obligation to pay HOA fees. As such, before buying a lot or home, check whether or not it belongs in an HOA. And if it does, confirm if membership is mandatory or voluntary. Make sure to have your real estate agent confirm all of this to avoid problems down the road.
