It varies between communities as different HOAs may have different needs and staffing requirements. It also depends on size as larger associations may require more staff on board. Moreover, HOAs that provide a lot of amenities and services (e.g. security, landscaping) may require more personnel. The board of directors should create a budget based on the neighborhood’s current and future needs and adjust the budget for payroll according to their estimates.
