Question:
We owned a 2 bedroom unit condominium. The association is charging $500 monthly fees. I think it is a little high even home owner association doesn’t charge that much. How can I find out of the laws regulating this association to charging such a fee?
Please advise. Thanks
– Yenny
Answer:
Hi Yenny,
There is currently no law in Oklahoma limiting how much an association may charge in monthly fees. Association boards can raise dues as high as they think is necessary to meet the budget of the association. That said, your association’s governing may have its own rules and limitations concerning monthly fees. Check your bylaws and CC&Rs to know more.
