Dispute over painting home. The HOA requires 3 colors. Body, Pop-outs and Facia. Meanwhile 7 or more homes have homes with 2 colors, some of which are not in the color scheme. I have chosen 2 colors in the scheme and request to paint body one color and pop-outs and Facia another. What can be done?
Homeowners associations typically have the authority to impose architectural rules, which can involve regulating the colors of your home’s exterior. If you suspect that the HOA board is enforcing these rules selectively, it is best to bring up the issue with your board first. Provide them with examples of other homes that only have two colors and are not in the color scheme. Beyond that, it is best to consult a lawyer.
