Question:
What does it mean when the rules state “Pets may not be used, bred, kept, or maintained for commercial purposes.”?
I work at a small pet store. The owners of the store want to make a commercial and they asked if I would like my dog to be in the commercial. I would love it but my mom thinks we will get fined because she thinks it’d be “using our dog for a commercial purpose”. The commercial will be taped at the pet store which is a couple miles away outside of the hoa property.

Answer:
Hi Kaelyn,
Based on that rule, it may be safe to have your dog appear in a commercial for the pet store. However, it is still best to seek permission from your HOA board to avoid potential problems.
