Question:
There has been some discussion regarding a “code of conduct” for Board members in our community and there’s been some debate as to whether or not it must be filed (with the county) to become a legal “standard”. Should (or must) it be filed?

Answer:
Hi Alan,
It may not be necessary. However, if it will be included in the bylaws or governing documents as an amendment, filing may be required. For further guidance, kindly consult a lawyer.
