Hi Robin,
Unfortunately, homeowners cannot lower their HOA fees. You may talk to your HOA board to see what they can do and if it’s possible to avail of a payment plan.
Alternatively, you can look to other financial assistance programs in the state. Floridians under 200% of the Federal Poverty Level in Pinellas County may have access to the Adult Emergency Financial Assistance Program (AEFAP). Unemployed, underemployed, and low or very low income heads of households may also apply for the Florida Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program.
