Finding Out Who HOA Board Members Are

How can I get information about my HOA board. I don’t know who the board member are. I only have a PO. Box address. Only received communication once per year to collect fees

There are a few ways to find out who your HOA board members are. First, you may access public records. In Georgia, HOAs are typically registered as nonprofit corporations. You can search for your HOA’s registration details, including the names of board members.

Second, you may attend the annual and board meetings. Board members must be present at these meetings. If you receive annual communication regarding fee collection, it may also include details about these meetings. Your bylaws may also contain information on how often board meetings are held and where they take place.

Third, you may ask to review the names and contact numbers of the board members. Under Georgia law, HOA members have the right to access certain association records, including meeting minutes and financial statements. Submit a formal written request to the HOA’s mailing address (the P.O. Box you have). You may also be able to request meeting minutes, which should contain similar details.

Finally, you can ask your neighbors. Your neighbors may have more information or experience in communicating with the board.
