Forfeited HOA in Maryland

Question:

If an HOA has not been listed as a Maryland entity since 2007 and was also forfeited in 2007, where does one turn in the paperwork for said HOA and how does one dissolve the HOA checking account?

Answer:

Hi Amber,

You may need to reinstate the HOA to file paperwork or operate as an unincorporated association. However, it may be best to consult an HOA attorney for help, and they can advise you as to whether or not the HOA needs to be reinstated. As for the checking account, kindly coordinate with the HOA board and the bank. You may need to follow the bank’s procedures for closing. If you need help from an attorney, you can find one through our online directory: https://www.hoamanagement.com/
