Question:
I replaced my mailbox in front of my house approximately 15 years ago. It’s the same shape as the others in my neighborhood, but slightly larger and it locks. A new Hué took over within the last six months and is telling me I need to replace my mailbox by a certain date or they will remove it. Is this legal

Answer:
Hi Gail,
Kindly review the governing documents to verify the community’s architectural standards regarding mailboxes. These may shed light on whether or not the mailbox is in line with the community’s rules. There may also have been updates to the community’s architectural guidelines. If the mailbox does not violate the architectural standards, you may raise this with the HOA board. For further guidance, kindly consult a lawyer.
