How to Handle Large Trucks in Texas HOA

Question:

How do you handle large trucks, (logging, building materials, etc..) on your roads. What agreement do you have with vendor or owners when an empty lot is being cleared and large trucks will be on your roads.

Answer:

Hi Judith,

It is best to check your governing documents for guidance on this matter. You may also consult your HOA management company or a professional in the field.

That said, you can start by holding your vendors responsible for their trucks, equipment, and debris. Make sure your agreement with them includes a clean-up clause. You should also ask them to park their trucks in specified spaces to reduce traffic. Furthermore, you should also inform your residents ahead of time about which roads and parking spaces won’t be available or passable for the time-being. Make sure to stay strictly within the agreed-upon working hours, too, so as to prevent disruption to residents.
