How to Look for HOA Management With Few Clients

Question:

How do we find a Smaller HOA Management Company rather than these Big Conglomerate Companies who have way too many other HOA’S to take care of and not enough time to do a good job handling the overload of HOA’S on their ‘plate’.?
Our HOA Community has had 2 of these ‘overloaded’ Management companies and it’s time for a time.
Please we need some advice.

Answer:

Hi Nancy,

It is a good idea to conduct an interview with potential management companies during the prospecting phase. Ask them questions like, “How many communities do you currently manage?” and “What steps will you take to ensure our community remains a priority of your company?” Asking such questions will allow you to gauge how busy a company is and how likely they are to put your HOA first. Additionally, you may want to add a clause in your management contract that compels the company to return your calls or address your concerns within a specified period of time.
