Can you tell me how much HOA fees are for different communities. We at Highland Manor Community Association are having trouble with homeowners paying their dues and claim they are too high. We want to make sure we are not overcharging compared to other communities in our area of Hagerstown.

HOA fees are typically calculated based on the anticipated expenses of the association. The board will first prepare an annual budget consisting of anticipated expenses as well as reserve fund contributions (if any). From there, the board will divide the total among all homeowners. Though, this process can differ depending on your governing documents.
