Question:
Our HOA board is inept, does nothing, doesn’t communicate with the community and never responds to questions. We have reached out to the HOA lawyer directly with a question regarding our By-Laws. He has not answered our question. What is one to do? Don’t our HOA dues go to paying for this lawyer’s retainer? Shouldn’t he respond to HOA questions? We had an election of the Board last fall and never heard back from the Board or the HOA lawyer whether the number on our Board was changed legally or not.

First, make sure to exhaust all forms of communication to get in touch with your HOA board. If they still don’t respond, you may want to consider removing the problem board members. To do that, you must refer to your HOA’s bylaws.
