Lien on Arizona HOA Property

Question:

When the property management sent my invoice after a year and a have with out one it included a lien on my property. .some one tore my money order that I sent to property management for my HOA fees. . This happened in March, 2023.; After seeing fraudulent charges added to my dept. I thought of the returned payment by the us postal I checked invoice,3/2023 $1200;, mark..is this normal stuff that hos due

According to the Arizona Planned Communities Act Section 33-1807(A), the assessments due may constitute a lien after one year or if the amount due is $1,200 or more, whichever is first. That may be why the association has sent you an invoice with a lien on the property. If the lien is valid, homeowners should settle the debt to avoid foreclosure.
