Limitations on Raising Dues in Washington

Question:

What is maximum rate hoa can raise its dues and must it tell its members rather than hide the raise in AGM ? Must members vote on raises ??

Answer:

Hi Steve,

Washington law currently does not dictate a limit or maximum rate an HOA can raise its dues. Members also usually need not vote on increases in dues, except as otherwise provided in the declaration. Your governing documents may have their own limitations established when it comes to increases. As such, make sure to read your bylaws and CC&Rs.
