The Massachusetts Condominium Statute currently does not place a limit on special assessments. However, your CC&Rs and bylaws might. Make sure to check these documents to see if your condo association has a cap on special assessments. Some CC&Rs and bylaws require a vote to pass special assessments or special assessments over a certain amount or percentage.
