Question:
I have requested a copy of the Landscaping Contract from my HOA board and they are refusing to allow me a copy.
Do I have a right to it?
Also, I asked the name of the lawyer that we use and they said I am not allowed to know it.

Answer:
Hi Renee,
If your HOA is governed by the Indiana Homeowners Association Act, then according to Section 32-25.5-3-3, an HOA must make all financial records (including contracts) available for inspection upon the written request of a homeowner. However, under the same section, an HOA is not required to make unexecuted contracts or records regarding contract negotiations available for member inspection.
