Neighbor Not Removing Dog Waste

Question:

I have a neighbor who refuses to pick up after her dog – The disgusting feces left on the neighborhood sidewalks has caused pedestrians, and customers to pick up dog droppings via their footwear, in turn, bringing it into their homes and places of business – My question would be,… what government department should I call in my city to deal with such a problem ? – The person responsible has been identified, and contacted but still refuses to pick up after her animal.

Thank you for any consideration,

Answer:

Hi,

It may be helpful to contact the HOA board in your neighborhood to report the incident. You may also review the governing documents of the HOA to verify whether failing to clean up after pets violates the HOA’s rules. If so, you may report the violation to the HOA board. Certain city governments and government departments may also be of help, such as the City of Binghamton or the New York City Department of Sanitation.
