Question:
We have security cameras attached to our home, they have been there for 10 – 12 years with no issues from previous boards. The new BOD president has added to our Rules and Regulations that homeowners are not allowed to have security cameras attached to their homes. They will only allow Ring doorbell cameras. Can they enforce this new rule to homeowners that have had cameras years before this new rule.
– Patsy
Answer:
Hi Patsy,
It is best to check your governing documents, particularly your CC&Rs, to see if your BOD President can add that rule without a vote from the membership. You should also check if this new rule will apply retroactively.
