No HOA But There Are Rules and Fees

Question:

I Just bought a house in Austin. My Realtors said there was no HOA. The documents that were filed where back in 1962 when the development was first being built and only outlines building requirements and that it was for a single family homes.

No I am receiving a letter that there is a HOA and I can not use my property for a short term rental.

There are no CC&R’s . He collects money for the road but doesn’t provide any accounting and he collects $dollars a year.

There are no meetings.

What legal corse can this man take?

Check your local county recorder’s office for records of the association. You should also confront the person sending you the letter and ask them about the details of the HOA.
