Question:
I was elected to our Condo Board 10-2023. Historically the teen is for 1 year. A couple months ago or Propeery Management co told me my term was expiring 12/2024. I was never notified that was the case until elections discussions were starting. O asked for written proof from meetin minutes to clarify my term length. I was sent a copy of our Newsletter, where the officers were posted and terms defined. The newsletter is not distributed to all owners, me excluded as well as others. How can property manager decide to take the newsletter info as legal accurate info when I received no notification?

Answer:
Hi Donna,
You should check your HOA’s bylaws to understand the term lengths of board members. These documents should also let you know of any notice requirements when it comes to ending a board member’s term. Regardless of what the newsletter says, the bylaws should be followed.
