Parking Rules in Florida Condominiums

Question:

I rent in a condominium with HOA. The parking is limited. We are allowed to one parking space and we had to fight for the few visitor parking space since we have two vehicles. I understood that visitor parking were for visitors. My daughter came to visit us on Sunday July 30th and park in a visitor parking space at day, and the towing company came and towed her car between 2:00 pm and 2:15 pm. There is anything legal to stop the abuse of this HOA and their ridiculous nonsense parking regulations?

Answer:

Hi Marlon,

The Florida Statutes Section 715.07 grants condominium associations the authority to tow vehicles. You may review this for further understanding. You may also review your governing documents to understand the specifics regarding your HOA’s parking regulations and the required procedures. Finally, you may also raise your concerns with the HOA board. For further guidance, kindly consult a lawyer.
