Question:
Can a homeowner post a video of a regular board meeting on youtube without the permission of the board members or the homeowners who are present? My state is Illinois and is that permissable?
If a homeowner/board member objects, is there a way to have that video taken down?
For an example of a reason why, one of the questions from a homeowner during the homeowner forum was in regard to another homeowner’s alleged violation.

Answer:
Hi Dorothy,
If you are a condominium, then Section 18(a)(9)(C) of the Condominium Property Act applies: “that any unit owner may record the proceedings at meetings of the board of managers or portions thereof required to be open by this Act by tape, film or other means, and that the board may prescribe reasonable rules and regulations to govern the right to make such recordings.”
Other than that, it is best to check your CC&Rs and bylaws.
