Removed HOA Board Won’t Leave

Question:

Our HOA consists of 2 people and we have voted to remove them BUT they won’t relinquish their roles. How do we get rid of them. They have access to our financials and no one in our community knows what’s going on

– Sheryl

Answer:

Hi Sheryl,

It is best to vote in a new HOA board to replace the ones you voted out. This way, there are new board members who can take their place and take action. It is important to be firm about this and make it clear to the removed board members that they are no longer in charge. They must cooperate with the new board members and hand over control or else potentially face legal action. It is best to consult a lawyer for further guidance.
