Switching to a Self-Managed HOA in Utah

Question:

How can we switch from HOA Management company to a self managed HOA? What is the process, and what are the requirements.

Answer:

Hi JD,

If you wish to become a self-managed HOA, make sure your HOA management company hands over all of the HOA’s documents to the board. These include financial records, statements, contracts, etc. With a self-managed HOA, the board will need to handle everything that the HOA management company used to do. Some examples include collecting dues, enforcing the rules, sending notices, hiring and coordinating with vendors, filing and paying taxes, preparing all the financial reports, and addressing homeowner concerns.
