Terminating Contracts Without Member Vote

Question:

Can a HOA board terminate services for a property management or landscape company without a vote of the residents and just by majority vote of the HOA board?

Answer:

Hi Greg,

Yes, the HOA board does generally have the authority to enter and terminate contracts with vendors on behalf of the association without a vote from the residents. That said, check your governing documents to see if there are any special requirements in your HOA.
