Voting on Assessments in Pennsylvania

Question:

Does the board vote large (?) assessments in Pennsylvania or do assessments have to be voted on by the owners

– Jean

Answer:

Hi Jean,

Pennsylvania law currently does not address this issue. However, your association’s governing documents may be able to. Your bylaws or CC&Rs should contain provisions concerning assessments and how high they can be. Check whether or not certain increases or assessments over a particular amount require approval from the owners.
