Who Regulates HOAs in New Jersey?

Question:

IF A BOARD IS USING THEIR AUTHORITY TO RUN AMUCK AND MAKE DECISIONS AND CHANGES BY NOT FOLLOWING THEIR BYLAWS IS THERE AN AUTHORITY OUT THERE THAT THEY HAVE TO ANSWER TO SO THAT THE RESIDENTS AND COMMITTEES CAN STOP BEING FRUSTRATED AND ANGERED AT THE BAD AND IRRESPOSIBLE DECISIONS BEING MADE BY THE BOARD.

Answer:

Hi Peter,

The Association Regulation Unit has the authority to enforce certain provisions of the New Jersey Condominium Act and the Planned Real Estate Development Full Disclosure Act. Keep in mind that this unit only provides information of a technical and advisory nature.
