Who Should Clear Snow from Sidewalks in Alaska?

Question:

It has been several days since the stairs and the sidewalk for properly cleared. I called, email as well as text Property Manager as well as the president for 4 days. They did plow the so cars will be able to move. They had snow remove from the roof which made the stairs and sidewalk more hazardous than before.

I live in Anchorage, Alasa and I am not sure who to contact on the State level to address this matter. According to bylaws, snow will be removed in 72 hours and being and that past.

Answer:

Hi Sterlin,

If the stairs and sidewalks are common areas owned by the homeowners association, then the HOA should generally be responsible for them. As such, you should get in touch with your HOA (board members or HOA manager) to resolve the issue. If the stairs and sidewalks are owned by the city, then you should refer the problem to your local government.
