I finally pulled the trigger and paid for a pre-purchase inspection on a used Mercedes C-Class I’ve been eyeing for weeks. The seller was pushing me to decide fast, which always makes me nervous, so I figured getting a proper check would give me peace of mind. The inspector spent over an hour going through the car, scanning the ECU, checking the air suspension, the works. He handed me a report that listed a few things like a slow coolant seep and some worn bushings, but nothing that screamed walk away. Now I’m stuck because I don’t know if these are serious issues or just normal wear for a car with that mileage. The seller is saying it’s all minor and I shouldn’t worry, but I’m not a mechanic and I don’t want to get stuck with a money pit. I keep wondering if I should have gone through prepurchasecarinspection.ae/brands/mercedes instead of the random guy I found on a classifieds site, or if that would have just given me more confusing details. Has anyone else been in this situation? How did you decide whether the findings were dealbreakers or just negotiation points? I’m in Dubai if that matters and the car is in Sharjah, so I’m also curious if anyone else has dealt with cross-emirate purchases. Any advice would really help because I’m supposed to give the seller an answer by tomorrow.
