I totally get where you’re coming from. I left my HOA a few years ago, and it’s been such a relief. First, check your HOA bylaws – they usually outline the process for leaving. Often, it involves a vote among members. Make sure you understand any financial obligations or penalties. Communicate your concerns with neighbors; you might find others who feel the same. Wow! I don’t know of anyone who successfully left their HOA without selling their home and moving out. But doing it with just a vote?? I’m surprised it didn’t inspire all other owners to do the same.
