Living in a community with an HOA can feel restrictive, especially when it comes to animals. If you have an emotional support animal, the process usually starts with providing a valid ESA letter from a licensed mental health professional. This document explains your need for the animal as part of your mental health support.

I got my ESA letter through My ESA Therapist after going through a proper evaluation, which made it easier to submit the required documentation. Most HOAs will review your request and may verify the letter, but they generally have to consider reasonable accommodation.

It helps to communicate clearly, follow the process, and keep everything documented. Being prepared can make the experience much smoother.
