We recently changed property management company in our community but it seems that we have a conflict of interest because the HOA president is employed by the same property management as a realtor. Can anyone citing the Florida statutes number that mentions? please.
Conflicts of interest are not always bad. In your case, I think you’re ok since the HOA president is only employed by the same management company and doesn’t actually own it. Does he hold a financial interest in the company?
You’ll find statutes discussing conflicts of interest outlined under Section 718.3026(3)(a)-(d) of the Florida Statutes for condominiums and under Section 720.3033(2)(a)-(d) of the Florida Statutes for homeowners’ associations.
