    Have you checked the laws in your state? Sometimes, state law will tell you what to do. Check with a lawyer as well. If there is no board and nobody wants to take over, you might be able to petition the court for a receiver. But that opens a whole different can of worms (receivers aren’t always good for the HOA).

    YES! IT IS WEIRD! I had no idea this was a rule when I bought my unit. I’m not saying it’s a dealbreaker but it’s definitely offputting. I’ve heard of rules that strictly require swimwear in the pool. But this just seems backwards.

    Sorry to hear about that. Social events are totally optional. Your HOA is definitely in the wrong here. They can’t force residents to attend parties and other social events. That’s f-ed up.

    It has been MONTHS since this dispute started between me and the board and it is STILL GOING ON. I have decided to take you up on your advice and consulted a lawyer who has dealt with these kinds of things before. The NERVE of this board is honestly shocking!!!!
